Lightning Protection Systems
Direct lightning strikes carry peak currents often exceeding 100kA with rise times under microseconds. Our engineered lightning protection solutions intercept this tremendous atmospheric discharge at preferred points and safely convey it to ground without dangerous sparking, flashover, or structural fire.
The External Lightning Protection Architecture
An external lightning protection system (LPS) consists of three interconnected subsystems: air-termination conductors or active ESE terminals positioned at the highest elevations, down-conductors routing high-voltage discharge down the structure via low-impedance paths, and an earth-termination network dissipating electrical energy safely into the mass of earth.
We supply and install both conventional Faraday cage/mesh systems conforming to IEC 62305-3 and Early Streamer Emission (ESE) technologies such as WAT Franklin Plus and INGESCO PDC AIR.
Site-specific evaluations account for structural height, geographic flash density in Kerala, building geometry, flammable roof materials, and nearby electrical services to ensure reliable interception efficiency.
